This Thursday March 24th, clear your schedules as there are two not to miss events going on in Whistler. Find a dinner (or lunch) date and head over to one of the 13 Whistler restaurants (over 230 in the Vancouver area) participating in this year's Dining Out for LIfe in support of a Loving Spoonful and Friends for Live supporting those living with HIV/AIDS.
Whistler's legendary Flipside, which just re-opened their doors in January, is participating as well as the infamous Hy's Steakhouse, the scrumptious mediterranean classic Kypriaki Norte and a full list can be found on the Facebook event page here. All participating restaurants will contribute 25% of their sales to this worthy cause. In addition, presenting sponsor Sumac Ridge will also contribute a $1 from every bottle sold for the entire month of March to the cause.
After an early dinner, head down to the Whistler Brewing Company in Function for the 1st ever Whistler Twestival. Twestival is a global fundraising movement that uses social media to raise funds for charity. Whistler will join nearly 200 cities across the globe as they “tweet, meet and give.” All proceeds raised from Twestival Whistler will benefit local charity, Zero Ceiling Society.
Twestival Whistler tickets are $10 and include one complimentary beer from Whistler Brewery. There will be an evening of "twentertainment" including live music by DJ Foxy Moron and Big Mountain Rhythm, roaming painted models, a used ski art station, grab bags and a well stocked silent auction. The event will take place March 24 from 7pm to late at the Whistler Brewing Company in Function Junction.
